“Former President Goodluck Jonathan has revealed his intention to hold frequent meetings with President Bola Tinubu, focusing on the various challenges confronting the West-African sub-region. Having been actively involved with ECOWAS since 2020 as the Mediator in Mali, and with President Tinubu now assuming the role of Chairperson of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS, Jonathan expressed his commitment to these gatherings.
He clarified that Nigerians should not be taken aback by the regularity of these visits, as the sub-region faces numerous pressing issues that necessitate thorough discussions. This marks Jonathan’s second visit to the Presidential Villa since President Tinubu’s inauguration as Nigeria’s 16th president. During his initial visit on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, the two leaders discussed matters concerning the continent and the subregion.”
