U.S City Declares July 7 Davido Day

The city of Houston has declared July 7 as “Davido Day” in honor of Nigerian afrobeats superstar Davido. Mayor Sylvester Turner made the proclamation following Davido’s sold-out show at the Toyota Center in Houston. This is not the first time that a Nigerian artist has been honored in this way. In 2019, Wizkid was given a similar honor in Minnesota after he made history as the first African artist to sell out the Skyway Theatre.
