President Bola Tinubu expressed his determination to liberate Nigeria from vested interests during a meeting with All Progressives Congress Women Leaders from the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Led by Betta Edu, the APC national woman leader, the group discussed various issues including security, healthcare, and industrialization, which Tinubu highlighted as priorities for his administration.
Tinubu assured the women leaders that his administration was already implementing policies and programs to positively impact the citizens, such as the Students’ Loan Scheme to ensure stable academic calendars for tertiary institutions.
He emphasized the importance of security, healthcare, and industrialization in improving the lives of Nigerians. Tinubu commended the women leaders for their support during campaigns and elections, promising them better rewards for their efforts and expressing his commitment to work towards a better Nigeria. He also emphasized the unity of the country and encouraged the women leaders to be open and accommodating to those from other parties who are willing to join.
Tinubu urged the women leaders to educate the citizens about the government’s policies and programs, assuring them that the current difficulties are temporary and that the gains from subsidy removal would benefit Nigerians.
Betta Edu, in her remarks, congratulated the president on his electoral victory and his appointment as ECOWAS chairman, while also requesting increased representation of women in government positions.
