Tinubu dismisses NIMC DG, appoints Bisoye Coker-Odusote as acting DG.

President Bola Tinubu has designated Bisoye Coker-Odusote as the acting Director General of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), effective Tuesday.

Concurrently, the President has directed the initiation of a 90-day pre-retirement leave for NIMC DG Aliyu Abubakar Aziz, starting from August 24, 2023, culminating in his formal retirement from service on November 24, 2023.

According to a statement from Spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu sanctioned the appointment of Bisoye Coker-Odusote to function as the Acting Director-General/CEO of NIMC for a 90-day term, starting from August 24, 2023. Subsequently, a complete four-year tenure will commence as the substantive NIMC Director-General/CEO, commencing on November 24, 2023.

Additionally, President Tinubu has also given approval for the appointment of Yusuf Yakub to assume the position of Director/CEO of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC), following the conclusion of Dr. Pius Osunyikanmi’s term as the former DTAC Director/CEO.

These appointments, as noted by Ngelale, are effective immediately.
