Tinubu administers the oath to ministers.

On Monday, President Bola Tinubu administered the oath of office to his cabinet ministers.

The ceremony commenced at 10 am, with the ministers taking their oaths in groups of nine, organized according to their respective states of origin. Leading the first batch of nine was Lateef Fagbemi from Kwara State, who was sworn in as the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice. Following him was Nkiruka Onyejeocha from Abia State, who became the Minister of State for Labour and Employment. The group also included Ekperipe Ekpo, the Minister of State for Gas in the Petroleum Resources, Minister of Women Affairs Uju Kennedy, and Minister of Education Tahir Mamman.

In the second group, Ali Pate, the Coordinating Minister in Charge of Health and Social Welfare, was followed by Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Other members included Joseph Utsev, Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation from Benue State, Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security from Borno State, and Heineken Lokpobiri, the Minister of State for Oil in the Petroleum Resources.

The third group’s swearing-in included Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Betta Edu, and Minister of Sports Development John Enoh, both from Cross Rivers State. Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development from Delta state, followed, along with Dave Umahi, the Minister of Works, and Abubakar Momoh, who will serve as the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs.

Minister of Solid Minerals Development Dele Alake from Ekiti State led the fourth set of ministers sworn in. He was followed by Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Sa’idu A. Alkali, the Minister of Transportation, Doris Anite, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, and Mohammed Badaru, the Minister of Defence.

In the fifth batch, Abdullahi T. Gwarzo, the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, and Mairiga Mahmud, the Minister Of State for the Federal Capital Territory from Kano State, took their oaths. Ahmed M. Dangiwa, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development from Katsina State, and Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Art, Culture, and The Creative Economy, were also part of this group. Atiku Bagudu, a former Governor of Kebbi State, was designated as the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning.

The subsequent batch, the sixth, began with Yusuf T. Sununu, the Minister of State for Education. Shuaibu A. Audu, originating from Kogi State, assumed the role of Minister of Steel Development. Tunji Alausa, representing Lagos State, was appointed Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare. Lola Ade-John, also from Lagos state, was designated as the Minister of Tourism. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, from Nasarawa State, was chosen as the Minister of State for Police Affairs.

In the seventh installment, the leading figure was Sani Abdullahi, the Minister from Niger State. Muhammed Idris, hailing from Niger State as well, took on the position of Minister of Information and National Orientation. Ishak Salako, from Ogun State, was appointed Minister of Environment. Wale Edu and Bosun Tijani, both from Ogun State, were assigned the roles of Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, and Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, respectively.

The eighth and final grouping featured Olobunmi Tunji-Ojo from Ondo State, who was named the Minister of Interior. Adegboyega Oyetola, the former Governor of Osun State, assumed the position of Minister of Marine & Blue Economy. Adebayo Adelabu, representing Oyo State, took on the role of Minister of Power. Simon Lalong, the former Governor of Plateau State, became the Minister of Labour and Empowerment. Nyesom Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State, was designated as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The most recent group was led by Bello M. Goronyo, hailing from Taraba State, who serves as the Minister Of State for Water Resources and Sanitation. Also included are Buba Ahmadu, a former Deputy Governor of Taraba state, designated as the Minister of State for Steel Development from Yobe. Ibrahim Geidam, a former Governor of Yobe State, is set to serve as the Minister of Police Affairs. Other members consist of Ibrahim Matawalle, the immediate past Governor of Zamfara, chosen as the Minister of State for Defence, and Zephaniah Jisalo, the nominated Minister from the FCT, who is to take on the role of Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs.
