There is widespread anger and shock following the death of a doctor at LUTH  after working without a break for 72 hours.

According to reports, Dr. Michael died during a church service on September 17th. He had just completed a 72-hour shift at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), where he was a resident doctor.

The Association of Resident Doctors at LUTH attested to the doctor’s overwork in a letter addressed to the Chief Medical Director of LUTH. They mentioned that Dr. Michael had returned home around 3:00 a.m. on Sunday after his demanding shift and had barely slept before attending church, where he tragically collapsed.

Twitter users shared their reactions to this tragic incident, with many expressing their concerns about the working conditions and well-being of doctors in Nigeria’s healthcare system. They called for better support and protection for medical professionals to prevent such devastating losses.
