The Nigerian singer Mohbad has passed away at the age of 27.

Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad, has tragically passed away due to a medical incident. A source within the singer’s team revealed that he sought medical attention on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, for an infection resulting from an injury.

While at the hospital, he received an injection but regrettably lost consciousness and did not regain consciousness. Mohbad, also known as Imole, rose to prominence in 2020 with the release of his hit song “Ko Po Ke.” He was signed to Marlian Records, led by Naira Marley, in 2019 prior to his breakthrough.

However, he faced issues related to his royalties and departed from the label in 2022. His legal team released a statement citing constant attacks, allegedly orchestrated by Naira Marley, as the reason for Mohbad’s exit.

It’s worth noting that earlier in 2023, Mohbad was reported to have attempted suicide due to these label-related issues. This incident was disclosed by Bella Shmurda during an interview, recounting how Mohbad’s girlfriend prevented him from jumping off a balcony to take his own life.

The news of his passing has deeply saddened the public, and fans and celebrities alike have taken to social media to pay their respects to the talented artist. In his relatively short time in the spotlight, Mohbad’s music left a significant impact on the Nigerian music industry.
