“The Nigerian military has reported significant achievements in its operations across the country. A total of 151 terrorists were eliminated, and 456 others were apprehended, according to Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

In the update provided, it was noted that the troops of Operation Hadin Kai were responsible for neutralizing 44 terrorists, arresting 21 individuals, and rescuing four kidnapped hostages during this period. They also recovered a cache of weapons, including 17 AK47 rifles, three locally fabricated rifles, three locally made guns, one Beretta pistol, three Dane guns, and 116 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition. Additionally, various rounds of ammo, magazines, fuel, vehicles, phones, motorcycles, cutlasses, and a sum of N3.18 million were seized.

Furthermore, suspected terrorists’ collaborators were apprehended in Borno and Yobe, while troops conducted successful ambushes and raids on terrorists’ hideouts in Borno’s Konduga and Gwoza local government areas.

In the North Central region, troops of Operation Safe Haven neutralized 16 terrorists, arrested 16 individuals, and rescued a kidnapped hostage. They also recovered firearms, including 12 AK47 rifles, two pistols, five locally fabricated rifles, six Dane guns, along with ammunition.

Operation Whirl Stroke saw the neutralization of 15 terrorists, the arrest of six individuals, and the rescue of one kidnapped hostage. Arms and ammunition were also recovered during these operations.

In the North West, the troops of Operations Hadarin Daji and Whirl Punch eliminated 35 terrorists, arrested eight, and rescued 17 kidnapped hostages. The air components of these operations continued to conduct successful air strikes on terrorists’ hideouts.”
