“On Friday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended 41 suspected internet fraudsters in Warri, Delta State. The arrest was the result of a well-planned operation based on intelligence reports.

Operatives from the Benin Zonal Command of the EFCC successfully apprehended these suspects, who were allegedly involved in various forms of online fraud, including romance scams, identity theft, phishing, and money laundering.

According to a statement from EFCC spokesperson Wilson Uwujaren, the suspects have provided valuable information, and they will face charges in court once investigations are completed.

Items recovered from the suspects, as disclosed by Uwujaren, include eight exotic cars, two Toyota Venzas, one Range Rover, one Lexus EX 350, two Lexus RX 350s, one Toyota Camry, one Mercedes-Benz C300, a Mercedes-Benz GLK, along with phones and laptops.

The EFCC urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to internet fraudsters to the nearest EFCC office or through their website.

The Commission reiterated its unwavering commitment to combat corruption and economic crimes in Nigeria.”
