Grammy-winning artist, Temilade Openiyi, widely known as Tems, has refuted claims that she made a statement about Nigerian music lacking “spirituality.”
A Twitter user with the handle @musicbaseafrica alleged that in a recent interview with American rapper Kendrick Lamar, Tems stated that she couldn’t resonate with Nigerian music as it “sounded so plain and basic, and there was nothing spiritual about it.”
Responding to this claim in the comment section, Tems denied it, stating, “FAKE NEWS!!!! Y’all are smelling fr, agenda must agenda Eyama!!”
