Sporting Lagos F.C., a Nigeria National League team, has achieved the remarkable feat of earning promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) less than a year after its establishment. Finishing at the top of their group with eighteen points from ten games, Sporting Lagos F.C. advanced on goal difference, narrowly surpassing Ijebu United, who also had eighteen points. So far, Sporting Lagos F.C. has won five games, drawn three, and suffered only two losses.
Securing a place in the Promotion Play-offs, Sporting Lagos F.C. was drawn into Group B alongside F.C. One Rocket, Abeokuta Stormers, and the five-time NPFL Champions, Heartland F.C. Their journey continued with a tight victory over F.C. One Rocket, winning by a single goal. Finally, in their match against Abeokuta Stormers at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium in Asaba, Sporting Lagos F.C. sealed their status as a top-flight team with a 2-0 triumph.
