Reports indicate that a tragic incident occurred in Rivers State, resulting in the electrocution of five young men. The incident happened as they were attempting to install a billboard using a metal frame. Additionally, four other individuals are currently fighting for their lives at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH), where they were swiftly taken for medical treatment.
The unfortunate event took place in the Obiri-Ikwerre area of Rumuosi Community, situated within the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state. The group of nine individuals was engaged in erecting the billboard structure using a metal frame that came into contact with an electrically charged high-tension cable.
These victims were reportedly private entrepreneurs who had been contracted to set up the billboard for a church.
