In a recent radio interview, Simi takes us on a nostalgic journey, sharing the humble beginnings of her love story with Adekunle Gold.
She reveals that Adekunle Gold’s initial attempts to catch her attention were unsuccessful. He had reached out to her through Facebook messages, but she only discovered them years later.
At that time, Simi had already established herself as a gospel singer, and she was gaining recognition in the industry. Interestingly, she started her musical career in the gospel genre before transitioning to the secular artist we know today.
Fate brought them together during one of Simi’s performances, and they instantly clicked. Recalling their first meeting, Simi chuckles as she shares that Adekunle Gold told her, “I’m such a fan.”
To avoid public scrutiny, the couple decided to keep their relationship low-key, even after achieving success in their careers. They dated for five years before finally tying the knot in 2019. The wedding ceremony was held at Ilashe private beach in Lagos state and was kept discreet.
In 2020, they welcomed their daughter, Adejare, into the world. Despite their amusing origin story, Simi and Adekunle Gold have become an inspiration to many with their adorable pictures and playful interactions on social media.
