“Samklef Accuses Banky W of Starting the Cancel Culture Against Him.”

“Veteran Nigerian record producer and singer, Samuel Oguachuba, widely recognized as Samklef, has alleged that Banky W, a prominent singer and music executive, played a central role in initiating a ‘cancel culture’ against him in the Nigerian music industry.

Samklef also claimed that Banky W has remained silent regarding the calls for justice in the case of the late rapper Mohbad, who reportedly passed away after facing mistreatment from his former record label, Marlian Music. According to Samklef, this is because Banky W himself had mistreated his former signees.

He made these allegations through his verified social media account on Tuesday, expressing that he has forgiven Banky W but chose to speak out so that others can learn from his experiences.

In his statement, Samklef said, “Banky W, the person who initiated my personal experience with cancel culture in 2012 alongside one of his friends in Soundcity… He is now a pastor, lol. Fellow artists, it’s time to share your genuine experiences! Don’t hold back! Many of them remain silent on this issue because they are aware of their own involvement. Their actions were not any different from Naira Marley’s! I have forgiven, but I will still share my story for the benefit of others.”
