Sadiq set for UCL debut against Inter

Nigerian forward Umar Sadiq may have the chance to make his UEFA Champions League debut for Spanish club Real Sociedad as they prepare to face Inter Milan in Group C action on Wednesday. This marks Sociedad’s return to the Champions League after a 10-year absence, while Inter reached the final last season.

Sociedad secured their place in this season’s Champions League group stage by finishing fourth in LaLiga last season with 71 points from 38 matches. This is the fifth time in their history that Sociedad is competing in the prestigious club competition, and it’s a first for Umar Sadiq.

The 26-year-old striker, who joined Sociedad from Almeria last season, suffered a season-ending injury but has since recovered. He has played a total of 107 minutes across five LaLiga games and has been included in the Sociedad match-day squad against Inter.

Sadiq, during his recovery in June, expressed his excitement about making his Champions League debut with Sociedad. He shared his thoughts on Instagram, thanking his teammates, medical staff, and coaches for their support during his rehabilitation and emphasizing the family-like atmosphere within the club.

Now, Sadiq has the opportunity to make his debut in the Champions League when Real Sociedad faces Inter Milan.
