Rangers unfazed by PSV fans – Dessers

Glasgow Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers is confident that the team is well-prepared to face any hostile environment during their UEFA Champions League second-leg playoff match against PSV Eindhoven at the Philips Stadion in the Netherlands on Wednesday.

The first leg concluded with a 2-2 draw at Ibrox, and Dessers played a crucial role in the team’s second goal by providing an assist for Rabbi Matondo in the 76th minute.

The Nigerian international has contributed one goal and two assists for Rangers in the Champions League qualifiers, notably scoring in the initial leg against Swiss side Servette at Ibrox.

In anticipation of their upcoming encounter against PSV, Dessers has shared his insights and believes in the capabilities of his fellow players to rise to the occasion.

Dessers stated, “The atmosphere will be intense there too, just like it was at Ibrox. I think Ibrox has the edge.” He continued, “Rangers players are accustomed to the crowd at Ibrox and have experience in the Champions League. I’m confident they can handle this crowd as well. We’ll be prepared, deliver a strong performance, and hopefully, that will be sufficient for us.”

Rangers aspire to secure consecutive qualifications for the UEFA Champions League, a feat they haven’t accomplished in 12 years, with their last occurrence spanning the 2009/10 and 2010/2011 seasons.

The group stage draw for the competition is scheduled for Thursday at the Grimaldi Forum in France.
