The Sai Masu Gida currently hold the second position in the Northern Conference standings, trailing behind rivals Katsina United on goal difference. Katsina United also began their promotion bid with a 2-1 win against DMD FC.
Sporting Lagos took an early advantage in the Southern Conference, securing a narrow 1-0 triumph over FC One Rocket in the third match of the day. They comfortably lead the group with three points, following a goalless draw between Stormers FC and Heartland in the last game.
Pillars, Katsina United, and Sporting Lagos will aim for consecutive victories to bolster their chances of securing NPFL promotion as the action continues in Asaba on Monday (today).
Sporting Lagos will face FC One Rocket in the first match of the day, while Stormers and Heartland will seek their first wins as they face off in the second game.
EFCC FC will take on Katsina United at 2 pm, while Kano Pillars will play against DMD in the final match of the day.
The top two teams from each group will earn promotion to the NPFL, which is set to commence next month.
