“People are leaving as troublemakers set fire to the palace of the Imo monarch.”

“Gunmen have set fire to the residence of Eze Kanu Ikenolu, the traditional ruler of Ndia Iche Arondizuogu community in Imo State’s Ideato North Local Government Area.

This incident has sparked fear among the villagers, causing them and even the monarch’s family members to flee into the nearby bushes.

According to a local resident who spoke anonymously, the attackers used explosives to burn down the mansion, destroying vehicles and other belongings worth millions of naira.

As of the time of the conversation with our correspondent, the police had not yet arrived in the village, leading the source to express concern about Arondizuogu’s connection to Imo State.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Henry Okoye, confirmed the arson and assured that efforts are being made to apprehend the arsonists and bring them to justice.”
