The Super Eagles’ international friendly match against Mozambique will be without Nigerian forwards Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho. This information was shared in a tweet on the team’s X (formerly Twitter) handle on Sunday.
As per the tweet, Napoli striker Osimhen will be absent from the game as a “precautionary measure” based on advice from the Eagles’ medical team. On the other hand, Leicester City’s Iheanacho will not participate due to “pressing personal issues.”
Both Osimhen and Iheanacho had played in Nigeria’s 2-2 draw against Saudi Arabia on Friday. The Super Eagles are scheduled to face Mozambique on Monday, October 16, at the Estadio Municipal de Albufeira in Portugal.
