Okey Bakassi’s crime comedy film ‘Bank Alert’ is set to be released in November.

Notably, Okey Bakassi is making a bold foray into a new genre with his upcoming cinema release. The well-known Nigerian comedian is all set to unveil his first major big-screen project before the close of 2023.

In an exclusive report by Shock Ng, Okey Bakassi, who is also the executive producer and lead actor, is fronting “Bank Alert,” a crime comedy film. The production of this movie is a collaborative effort involving Wingonia Ikpi, FilmOne Studios, Trino Motion Pictures, Tribal Marks Media, and Sterling Bank.

Directed by Akay Mason, the ensemble cast features prominent actors like Bolanle Ninalowo, Kate Henshaw, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Taiwo Hassan, Uzor Arukwe, and Tina Mba. Principal photography for the film has already concluded, and the theatrical release date for “Bank Alert” is scheduled for November 24, 2023.

While the specific storyline remains undisclosed, audiences can anticipate something fresh and distinct on the big screen. Okey Bakassi joins a league of comedians who have ventured into significant cinematic projects. AY Makun achieved substantial commercial success with his “Merry Men” movie franchise, a crime thriller centered around four of Abuja’s most eligible and notorious bachelors, their thriving businesses, fast cars, homes, and romantic escapades.

Another fellow comedian, Bovi, also made waves with “My Village People,” a comedy supernatural thriller released in 2021. With the impending release of the third “Merry Men” installment, titled “Nemesis,” scheduled for October 13, 2023, at cinema locations nationwide, expectations are high regarding what “Bank Alert” has in store for its audience.
