Remo Stars secure a place in the final of the inaugural Naija Super 8 tournament, defeating Lobi Stars 2-1 in the semi-finals on Friday. Dela Akorli and captain Nduka Junior scored the crucial goals that propelled Remo Stars to the final.
Lobi Stars managed to find the net through Joseph Atule, but it served as a consolation goal.
In the 22nd minute, Akorli put Remo in the lead by skillfully scoring from a lobbed pass by Isaac James. Just two minutes into the second half, Junior extended the lead to 2-0 by heading in a free-kick from Sodiq Ismail.
Lobi Stars were awarded a penalty, which Atule successfully converted in the 61st minute to make it 2-1.
Remo Stars will now await the winner between Sporting Lagos and Akwa United to determine their opponent in the final, scheduled for Sunday.
