Mohbad’s wife seeks Falana’s intervention, Ekiti Assembly demands justice

Human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, revealed that Omowunmi, the wife of the late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, visited him to seek justice for her husband, who passed away on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day.

Falana explained that he visited the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, and discussed the ongoing investigation into the musician’s death. He assured Omowunmi of his commitment to ensuring that the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death are fully uncovered.

Furthermore, the Ekiti House of Assembly has called for a thorough investigation into Mohbad’s death, emphasizing the need to unravel the circumstances surrounding it. They expressed their sorrow at the musician’s untimely death and supported the call for an investigation.

Additionally, Kabiru Shotobi, a community leader in Ikorodu, where Mohbad was buried, narrated how the late artist’s father allegedly attempted to bury him at midnight on the day of his death. Shotobi prevented the burial at night and raised concerns about the situation.

Former presidential aspirant Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim also called on the police to conduct a thorough investigation into Mohbad’s death. He expressed concerns about the influence of cult leaders and drug lords in the entertainment industry and urged the police to ensure that any culprits are brought to justice.

In Osogbo, thousands of youths held a candlelight procession in honor of Mohbad, demanding a probe into the circumstances of his death, highlighting the importance of justice in the case.
