“Madrid is considering Moffi as a potential alternative to Mbappe.”

“Amidst the uncertainty surrounding Kylian Mbappe’s future, Real Madrid is eyeing a potential move for Nigerian international Terem Moffi. The 24-year-old has garnered attention with his strong performance in the 2023/24 season, according to reports from PUNCH Sports Extra. Defense Central suggests that Los Blancos are closely monitoring Moffi as part of their Plan B, should their pursuit of the French international falter in the 2024 summer transfer window.

Real Madrid has a history of admiring Mbappe, but concerns have arisen regarding his contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain. The 14-time UEFA Champions League winners are actively building a squad brimming with some of the world’s finest young talents. In midfield, they boast Jude Bellingham, Fede Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Eduardo Camavinga, along with Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo on the flanks.

However, following Karim Benzema’s departure, the Spanish giants are yet to find the ideal replacement. While Mbappe’s name is frequently associated with Madrid, the prolonged transfer saga has prompted the club to explore alternative options. While the club would prefer to secure Mbappe on a Bosman deal next summer, Moffi stands as a viable choice should the Frenchman extend his stay at PSG.

Moffi has made a name for himself as a standout performer in Ligue 1, making significant contributions during his stints with Lorient and now OGC Nice. With 108 appearances in France, the Nigerian forward has netted 43 goals and provided 12 assists. His impressive start to the current season, with three goals and two assists in five matches, caught the eye, especially when he outperformed Mbappe during Nice’s clash with PSG. Moffi scored twice and assisted once as Nice secured an away victory, much to the frustration of the French superstar.

Moffi’s exceptional display has not gone unnoticed in Spain, as Real Madrid reportedly intensifies its interest in the Nigerian ahead of the upcoming transfer window.”
