Katsina Govt. to engage 2,400 youths to tackle insecurity

The Katsina State government is planning to recruit 2,400 youths to help provide security in eight local government areas that have been affected by insecurity.

The LGAs are Kankara, Faskari, Sabuwa, Dandume, Batsari, Safana, Danmusa, and Jibia.

300 youths will be selected from each LGA.

The recruitment process is being designed by the state government, and the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Faruk Lawal-Jobe, has already launched the distribution of forms to the local government chairmen.

The youths who are selected will be trained by security personnel.

This is one of the key campaign promises of the governor, and it is hoped that the youths will be able to help to improve security in the affected areas.

  • The recruitment process is expected to be completed by the end of July 2023.
  • The youths will be trained in basic security techniques, such as how to detect and report suspicious activity.
  • They will also be given some basic weapons training.
  • The government hopes that the youths will be able to help to deter crime and protect the communities from attack.
