Popular Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has responded to comedian Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori’s statement about sharing bills with her husband.
Kiekie, during a recent interview with media personality Toke Makinwa, firmly stated that she couldn’t live in a house without contributing to rent as a married woman. She argued that sharing bills with one’s husband promotes mutual respect and ensures a fair division of assets in case of divorce.
Commenting on the widely shared video, Ovire said, “Just admit that you earn more than your husband, Kiekie, and then bill-sharing becomes a necessity. It’s my husband’s responsibility to cover the bills, especially since he can afford it. My role is to take care of the home and be available for emergencies. My man won’t even let me contribute a cent.”
In her response, Ovire emphasized that her husband is financially capable and insists on covering all the expenses, leaving her with responsibilities related to the household and emergencies.
