Iyanya has broken his silence and candidly discussed his past relationship with Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson in a recent interview. Speaking on GHOneTV’s segment ‘Toast,’ he addressed their relationship, the aftermath of their breakup, and the cheating allegations.
Their high-profile romantic relationship began in 2012 but ended in 2015. When asked what he wanted the public to know, Iyanya expressed his desire to be seen as a good guy and not the heartbreaker he had been portrayed as. He expressed his frustration, saying, “I don’t like the fact that I’m always the bad guy… we should move past this.” He also mentioned the negative impact of Yvonne’s tweet about their failed relationship in 2015, revealing that he lost 6,000 Ghanaian fans on Twitter and faced significant online backlash that he has yet to fully recover from.
Referring to Yvonne’s recently released memoir titled ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson,’ where she detailed the reasons for their breakup, Iyanya mentioned that he did not want to discuss the allegations of an affair with Nigerian actress Tonto Dikeh.
