Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has said that she ignores online critics because they “don’t really care” and are just “venting their frustrations”.
Edochie, who has been in the industry for over two decades, said that she has faced harsh criticism from online critics throughout her career. However, she said that she does not let their opinions bother her because she knows that they are not genuine.
“They don’t really care; they just make noise and move on to the next big thing,” Edochie said.
She added that she chooses to surround herself with positive people and energy, and that she does not give any attention to negative comments.
“You live this life for yourself,” Edochie said. “It’s just you that matter. You can’t be the judge of your own life and be the judge of my own life at the same time.”
Edochie also advised her fans to disregard any negativity around them and to focus on their own happiness.
“If you care enough for yourself, that’s enough,” she said.
She also touched on the backlash she received after announcing her decision to have a surrogate as she reinforced her choice to ignore trolls online.
“They’re just venting their frustrations on you, just do you,” she encouraged them.
