Nigerian music producer Alli Odunayo, popularly known as Telz, shared a story of how he made a vow to his friends on the first day of January that he would achieve stardom in 2020 or else he felt like he would die. Just seven days later, BNXN, formerly known as Buju, invited him to join him in visiting Burna Boy.
Telz revealed that during their visit to Burna Boy’s house, he seized the opportunity to produce the hit song ‘Naughty by Nature’ for the singer on the very first day they met.
During his appearance on the latest episode of the All-Nighter podcast, the 26-year-old recounted the incident. He mentioned that after returning from church on New Year’s Day, he shared his determination with his friends, expressing his belief that if he didn’t achieve success in 2020, it would feel like a life or death situation.
Just a week later, when he accompanied Buju to meet Burna Boy, he found himself in the presence of the renowned artist. While they were at Burna Boy’s house, Telz took the opportunity to showcase his skills as a producer, and Burna Boy recognized his talent. They collaborated on ‘Naughty by Nature,’ creating the hit song on that very day.
It’s worth noting that Telz was one of the producers of Burna Boy’s album ‘Twice As Tall,’ which won a Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album in 2020.
