“I fear for my life,” expressed Singer Skales.

Renowned artist Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, more commonly known as Skales, revealed that he and his family constantly live in a state of fear due to the recent intrusion of their home by agents from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). It should be noted that Skales had previously criticized the EFCC for unlawfully entering his residence and falsely accusing him of fraudulent activities.

During the latest episode of the Terms & Conditions podcast, Skales disclosed that he has been receiving threats ever since he spoke out against the anti-corruption agency. He emphasized that his safety is now in jeopardy. Despite this, the ‘Shake Body’ artist maintains that he continues to move about freely because he is confident in his innocence.

Skales further noted that one of his associates, who was apprehended during the EFCC raid, remains in custody. He expressed concerns about the actions of the EFCC, asserting that their operatives did not possess a valid search warrant when they invaded his home. His primary grievance with the EFCC is not just their failure to fulfill their official duties but their misuse of power to oppress individuals. In his own words, “They are now using their authority to oppress people. They are oppressing me right now. I am genuinely afraid for my life, but I must emphasize that I am innocent, which is why I continue to go about my daily life.”
