In a conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the reality star shared the story of how she acquired a facial scar in 2019 due to a car accident. She explained that the accident took place while she was en route to the Abuja airport, and she has since struggled to come to terms with the scar.

Princess emphasized that her face had always been the most admired part of her body, and she had grown up being complimented for her beauty. Consequently, the injury to her face significantly impacted her self-esteem.

She recounted, “In 2019, I had a car accident on my way to the airport. That’s how I got this scar on my face. I was headed to the airport for a job here in Lagos, and near the Abuja airport, I had an accident. It changed my life because I didn’t know how I would cope with a scar on my face. You know, when you’ve grown up as the beautiful girl, and your entire life, you’ve been considered beautiful; I’ve been beautiful since I was 5.”

Following the accident, Princess experienced the COVID-19 lockdown, during which she had to confront her scar daily. She explained that the scar played a part in her decision to step away from the spotlight. As she had always associated her beauty with her facial features, she had to undergo a process of self-acceptance.

“Then came the lockdown, and I had all of COVID-19 to wake up each day and see a scar on my face. I’d turn on the camera to shoot a video, and there was a scar under my lip. It truly distanced me from the camera. I think that’s partly why I withdrew,” the reality star added.

Princess attributed her inner peace to her faith in God, acknowledging that she couldn’t have navigated the depressive period on her own. She also mentioned that she successfully redefined her self-worth to extend beyond her external beauty.
