In a conversation with media personality Tayo Aina, who spent 24 hours with him, the singer shared his perspective on fatherhood and the experience of raising his daughter, Adejare.
He emphasized that he and his wife, Simi, have a firm commitment to raise their daughter with utmost care, ensuring that she does not encounter the hardships he endured during his upbringing. Gold expressed his love for the substantial responsibility of nurturing his child and stated that his family is his core focus. He also mentioned his dedication to working hard, even in his music career, to provide for her needs.
Gold remarked, “It’s a significant responsibility, one that I genuinely cherish, knowing that I have this profound duty to nurture a queen. My family is my anchor, as I mentioned before. When you asked me where my happiness lies, my happy place, it’s where they are. That’s why I’m hustling so hard because this little girl, she cannot experience the same hardships I went through. That’s why I’m setting aside music earnings for her school fees, for all of you.”
Continuing the conversation, Aina inquired about how Gold manages the balance between parenthood and stardom, given that both he and his wife are acclaimed musicians. The singer responded with a smile, highlighting that their shared musical careers make the situation even more beautiful.
He added, “I think it’s even more beautiful because we don’t have to provide extensive explanations to each other because she understands, and I understand as well. If she has commitments somewhere, we coordinate it. For instance, right now, she’s in Lagos working. Thankfully, we have family around to assist with Deja.”
Gold expressed his joy in the fact that he and his wife are thriving despite their distinct schedules and how they effectively co-parent their toddler.
