Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers attacked the farm of former Senator Simeon Ajibola, who represented Kwara South, resulting in the death of the farm’s supervisor, Biodun Ajibola, who was also a relative of the ex-legislator.
The incident occurred on Monday at the farm located in Isapa, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State around 8 am. The gunmen attempted to kidnap the supervisor, but he resisted and was killed in the process.
Fortunately, Senator Ajibola was not present during the attack, which might have been the kidnappers’ initial target. However, they were unable to take the supervisor’s driver, Segun Adeleye, as they aborted their plan upon spotting approaching motorcyclists.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident and stated that the police are actively pursuing the criminals.
