Governor Wike grants a three-month extension to owners of undeveloped land.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has granted a three-month grace period to the owners of 189 undeveloped plots of land in the FCT. During this period, they are expected to commence development on these plots or risk having their allocation papers revoked.

Mr. Muhammad Sule, the Director of Information and Communication at the FCT Administration, announced this in Abuja on Sunday. He clarified that the affected landowners had already received building plan approvals but had not initiated development on the properties.

This grace period is applicable to both individuals and corporate organizations that have expressed an intention to develop their land by obtaining building plan approvals. Additionally, public institutions with land titles in the FCT that have not initiated development are also advised to do so within the three-month grace period to avoid sanctions.

Sule emphasized that the Minister encourages those with affected properties to make use of this opportunity and commence development in accordance with the terms of their Right-of-Occupancy offers. Furthermore, he stated that public institutions allocated land must also begin the development process; otherwise, their title documents may be revoked.
