FIFA has designated Portuguese referee Luis Godinho to officiate the international friendly match between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, which will be held at the Estadio Municipal de Portimão on October 13 at 5 pm. This appointment was announced in a statement released by Ademola Olajire, the Director of Communications for the Nigeria Football Federation, on Thursday in Abuja.
Godinho will be supported by an officiating team that includes Bruno Jesus as assistant referee one, Tiago Costa as assistant referee two, and Miguel Noguera as the fourth official. Helder Carvalho will oversee the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) operations, with assistance from Bruno Vieira.
This match will mark the second-ever meeting between the two countries. In a pre-2010 FIFA World Cup friendly game on May 25, 2010, the Super Eagles and the Green Falcons played to a goalless draw at the Alpenstadion in Wattens, Austria.
Following this encounter, the Eagles will face the Mambas of Mozambique in another friendly match at the same venue on October 16 at 4 pm.
