Enyimba terminates Finidi’s contract shortly after securing their ninth NPL championship.

Enyimba, the champions of the Nigeria Premier League, have officially dismissed their head coach, George Finidi. Just a few weeks ago, Finidi led the Aba giants to a remarkable ninth NPL title.

Having been in charge of Enyimba for two seasons, the former Nigerian international’s tenure has come to an end. The club made an announcement on Monday, declaring the dissolution of the technical staff.

In a statement signed by the sporting director, Ifeanyi Ekwueme, the Peoples’ Elephant directed all coaches to reapply for their positions within a 48-hour timeframe.

Notably, the Abia State Government recently appointed Nwankwo Kanu, a former captain of the Super Eagles, as the new chairman of the club. Kanu and Finidi were once teammates during their playing days at the renowned Dutch club, Ajax Amsterdam.
