Emefiele pleads ‘not guilty’ to firearm charges

Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), appeared in a Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to charges of illegal possession of firearms brought against him by the Ministry of Justice.

As previously mentioned by Vanguard, Emefiele arrived at the Federal High Court in Lagos to face trial for the alleged possession of firearms. He was already present in court before the arrival of the lawyers, prepared to defend himself against the two-count charge, which accused him of possessing a single-barrel shotgun (JOJEFF MAGNUM 8371) without a license.

Further details will be provided as they become available.
