Following the drama at the Federal High Court, which spanned approximately three hours, the Department of State Service (DSS) took Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, into its custody in defiance of the Court’s ruling on Tuesday.
After considering the arguments from both the plaintiff and the defendant, the Federal High Court in Ikoyi granted bail to Emefiele for N20 million and directed him to remain in the correctional center until the bail conditions were met.
Subsequent to the court’s decision, Joseph Daudu, SAN, Emefiele’s counsel, expressed concern that the DSS was determined to re-arrest his client despite the court’s granted bail.
