Davido makes history as first African artiste to perform at PFA Awards

Renowned Nigerian artist, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, achieved a significant milestone on Tuesday night by becoming the first African musician to perform at the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Awards in England.

The performance by the ‘Unavailable’ singer took place as an interlude before the presentation of the most prominent awards of the evening, which occurred at the Lowry Theatre in Manchester.

Davido expressed his excitement about this historic accomplishment on Wednesday through a post on his Twitter account. He extended his gratitude to the PFA for providing him with the opportunity not only to attend the esteemed event but also to showcase his musical talents. He highlighted the strong connection between music and sports, emphasizing the successful fusion of the two during his performance. Davido concluded his tweet by announcing his upcoming performance in Dubai at the Coca-Cola Arena.

It’s worth noting that Davido’s presence in such prestigious events like the PFA Awards and his past performance at the FIFA World Cup closing ceremony in Qatar demonstrate his rising global recognition and his ability to bridge the gap between music and sports on an international scale.
