The international superstar interrupted his performance to pay tribute to the late singer. He spoke to his concert attendees, reminding them that celebrities and artists are also human beings who face their own struggles.
He expressed, “I’d like to offer my condolences to the family of my dear brother Mohbad, who passed away yesterday. You know, as we step onto the stage and perform for you all every night, you may not be aware of the challenges we artists go through. We are human beings too, and it takes a lot for us to come out, perform, and give our all every night, and we do it because we love you. You understand me. A special shoutout to my brother; we know you’re watching us from heaven. Tonight, we celebrate for you.”
This moment took place during his ongoing Timeless tour in Manchester and wasn’t the first time he addressed Mohbad’s passing.
He also posted a candle emoji on Twitter in memory of the singer after learning about his death. Like others in the entertainment industry, he was deeply shocked by the suddenness of his passing.
Additionally, it was reported that Davido donated ₦2 million to the singer’s family for assistance. In a video recorded after Mohbad’s funeral, his family revealed that the star sent the money and condolences through a representative, expressing their gratitude for his generous contribution.
