Cynthia Okereke, the Nollywood actress, has passed away.

Cynthia Okereke, a well-known actress in the Nigerian film industry, has been confirmed to have passed away. The news of her death was announced by Joseph Okechukwu, a filmmaker in Nollywood, on his Instagram page. According to his post, she passed away on Tuesday night.

“I am deeply saddened by this news and at a loss for words. It is especially heartbreaking because I was just about to pay for her flight ticket to continue our work together, only to find out that she had departed to be with the Lord last night. Coping with this shock will be one of the most challenging things I’ve faced recently. Life is fleeting. One moment you have it, and the next it slips away.”

“For over two decades, I have known Cynthia as an incredible, kind-hearted, and lovely person to be around. I never anticipated that she would leave us in such an abrupt manner. Words cannot express my sorrow.”

“Rest in peace, Cynthia. May your gentle soul find eternal rest until we reunite in glory,” he posted.

Cynthia Nkiru, born on April 20, 1960, in Enugu State, Nigeria, was known for her portrayals of nurturing mothers, grandmothers, regal queens, and mother-in-laws in Nollywood films.

She appeared in numerous movies, including “King Jaja of Opobo,” “Osuofia in London,” “Second Chance,” “Coronation,” “Otollo,” “Sound of Love,” “Second Burial,” “Lion Finger,” “Hidden Tears,” “MegaMama,” “Mr Ibu’s Wedding Day,” and many others.
