“On Sunday, President Bola Tinubu nominated Dr. Jamila Ibrahim for the position of Minister of Youth, pending confirmation by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Additionally, he nominated Mr. Ayodele Olawande to serve as the Minister of State for Youth, subject to Senate confirmation.
The announcement was made by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement titled ‘President Tinubu Nominates New Ministers for Federal Ministry of Youth.’
This development comes after Tinubu reassigned Abubakar Momoh, who had been nominated as Youth Minister, to the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs a few weeks ago.
Dr. Jamila Ibrahim, aged 37, is a medical doctor and formerly held the position of President of the Progressive Young Women Forum. She has also served as the Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals.
Mr. Ayodele Olawande is an expert in community development and a youth leader within the ruling All Progressives Congress. He previously served in the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Innovation from 2019 to 2023.
Ibrahim and Olawande are the latest additions to President Tinubu’s 47-member cabinet.”
“President Tinubu charges the above-mentioned nominees to ensure that they consistently reflect the dynamism, innovative zeal, and unyielding productivity that are synonymous with the young people of Nigeria as they discharge their duties,” the statement read.
