BREAKING: Eden Hazard retires from professional football at 32

Eden Hazard, the former player for Chelsea and Real Madrid, has officially announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 32. The former Belgian national team captain took to his Instagram page on Tuesday to share a statement about his decision to retire after 16 years in the world of football.

In his message, he expressed the importance of knowing when to step away, saying, “You must listen to yourself and say stop at the right time.” After a career spanning over 16 years and more than 700 matches played, he has decided to conclude his journey as a professional footballer. He reflected on the fulfillment of his dreams, the enjoyment he experienced on numerous football fields worldwide, and the privilege of working with great managers, coaches, and teammates. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to these memorable moments, and he will miss them all.

Hazard also extended his gratitude to the clubs he played for, namely LOSC (Lille), Chelsea, and Real Madrid, as well as the Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) for his involvement with the Belgian national team. He reserved special thanks for his family, friends, advisors, and those who stood by him through both good and challenging times.

He wrapped up his message with heartfelt appreciation for his fans, who have supported him throughout his career, and promised to spend quality time with loved ones and embark on new experiences. He concluded with a farewell message to his fans, stating, “Now is the time to enjoy my loved ones and have new experiences. See you off the field soon my friends.”

Hazard had been without a club since his release from Real Madrid during the summer, despite making only 76 appearances in four seasons with the club.
