Bolaji Ogunmola is preparing to launch her latest feature film, titled ‘Anjola’.

‘Bolaji Ogunmola embarks on a unique journey as a producer and lead actress in her latest feature film, “Anjola.” This film offers a timely yet enduring narrative that confronts a significant issue within our society.

“Anjola” delves into the lives of a married couple whose love is put to the test when a single night gives rise to a profound clash of desires. One desires a natural conception, while the other questions the boundaries of belief.

In an exclusive interview with Shock.Ng, Ogunmola shared that her involvement in this project was driven by her determination to ensure that this particular story was brought to life. She also discussed the challenges she faced in portraying the character, stating, “I had to dig deep and explore aspects of myself that I didn’t even know existed to feel Anjola’s pain and narrate her story. It was a challenging process, but I trust that we did a commendable job.”

Directed by Valentine Edochie, the film boasts an ensemble cast that includes Femi Jacobs, Bimbo Akintola, Jude Chukuwa, and Elozonam Ogbolu.

The film’s writer, Mannie Oiseomaye, emphasized the story’s relevance, noting, “What’s crucial is not just that the story is being told now, but that it is being told. The pressure to become a mother is a pain most women are familiar with, and this movie sheds light on that.”

While no specific release date has been announced, “Anjola” is expected to initially go through film festivals before making its public debut on a streaming platform. With its themes encompassing motherhood, depression, love, pain, support systems, and patience, “Anjola” is poised to convey a powerful message about the challenges of childbirth that many women face.”
