“Skiibii boasts that he has never sought collaborations with other artists.”

The well-known singer, Abbey Toyyib Elias, popularly known as Skiibii, has made it known that he has never initiated requests for collaborations with his fellow artists, asserting that they usually approach him.

Skiibii revealed this during an appearance on Hip TV’s Trending, hosted by reality star KimOprah. He explained, “I don’t typically initiate calls to other artists for collaborations. It’s not my usual approach. For example, Olamide expressed interest in collaborating with me and asked for us to create a song together, to which I agreed. The collaboration with Olamide became my first music video to surpass one million views on YouTube.”

He further elaborated on other collaborations, saying, “My work with Reekado Banks occurred because we were friends. There needs to be a pre-existing relationship before I work with someone. I don’t just collaborate with anyone. So, Reeky and I were very close friends, and we did ‘Sensima.’ We had already worked on a song together titled ‘London’ before that.”

“I also collaborated with Kizz Daniel, who is a close friend of mine, and it’s widely known. As for my collaboration with Davido, it happened after he messaged me on Instagram, expressing his interest in joining the remix of my song ‘Baddest Boy,'” Skiibii added.

He even noted that Canadian rapper Tory Lanez expressed his desire to be featured in one of his songs, emphasizing that he didn’t have to reach out to the international star.
