“At 5 am, EFCC conducted a raid on my grandmother’s estate,” revealed ‘BBNaija’ star Leo Dasilva.

Leo Babarinde Dasilva, a former participant of Big Brother Naija widely recognized as Leo Dasilva, has criticized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for an alleged unauthorised raid on his grandmother’s estate. He brought this issue to light on his official Twitter account on October 13, 2023, revealing that EFCC officials arrived at his grandma’s estate in Lekki at 5 am, describing it as a “random raid.”

In his tweet, Dasilva noted that the officials conducted the raid without a warrant or any prior intelligence. He further expressed his frustration that no action had been taken in response to the residents’ complaints. His tweet read, “EFCC raided my grandma’s estate in Lekki this morning at 5 am. No intelligence, no warrant, just a random raid, unfortunately. Woke up to it being discussed on their estate platform. Citizens are speaking out, and no one is listening until this escalates to protests. This is absurd.”

Dasilva also shared a screenshot in which someone informed him that they had witnessed EFCC officials forcibly entering a woman’s residence but left when they realized it was a woman’s house.

It’s important to note that Dasilva is not the only celebrity to have criticized the EFCC recently. On October 10, 2023, Nigerian singer Skales took to Twitter to express his outrage at the commission for raiding his house during the night, causing fear and harm to his family and even injuring his producer. The commission responded by stating that their agents were pursuing two suspected fraudsters within the singer’s residence based on received intelligence, and they apprehended the suspects within Skales’ compound.
