Primeboy is now in police custody following his declaration as a wanted individual in the case involving Mohbad.

Owodunni Ibrahim Oluwatosin, also known as Primeboy, is currently in police custody and undergoing interrogation in connection with the death of Mohbad. This update was shared by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, in a tweet posted on Thursday, October 5, 2023. Hundeyin revealed that Primeboy, the prime suspect, voluntarily surrendered himself after being declared wanted on October 4, 2023.

In his tweet, Hundeyin stated, “Following his declaration as a wanted individual, Owodunni Ibrahim Oluwatosin, aka Primeboy, has turned himself in. He has been immediately taken into custody for interrogation and other necessary procedures.”

Hundeyin reassured the public of the police’s unwavering commitment to achieving justice for the late singer Mohbad, who passed away on September 12, 2023. He emphasized that the police would conduct a thorough and meticulous investigation into the case.

“The Lagos State Police Command once again assures the family, friends, fans of Mohbad, and the general public that we will leave no stone unturned in ensuring a diligent investigation. The Command also guarantees that anyone found responsible for the death of Mr. Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, will be brought to justice,” he added.

The investigations officially commenced on September 18, 2023, following public demands for justice in Mohbad’s sudden death. Subsequently, the singer’s body was exhumed and sent for a coroner’s autopsy, the results of which have not yet been disclosed.

After videos surfaced online showing the harassment Mohbad experienced at the hands of Naira Marley and the Marlian record music label, there were calls for Marley’s arrest. Marley and his associate, Sam Larry, returned to the country when invited for questioning by the police. Following their return, the warrant for Primeboy’s arrest was made public.

During this period, Marley and Larry have been remanded in police custody for 21 days by the magistrate court, while the investigations continue.
