The inclusion of Hatayaspor midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru in the national team for the upcoming international friendly games against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique has been well-received by certain fans, according to a report from PUNCH Sports Extra.
The Nigeria Football Federation recently unveiled the list of players invited by Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, with the 22-year-old being the sole new addition to the squad.
Nigeria is scheduled to face the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia in Portimão, Portugal on Friday, October 13, followed by a match against Mozambique in the same city three days later.
Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has been in excellent form for his Turkish club, notching four goals and providing two assists in seven matches. His inclusion has sparked excitement among fans who believe he could be the missing piece in the Eagles’ midfield.
Moolah, commenting on X, stated, “It’s great to see Fisayo Dele-Bashiru make the list. He could be the solution we need in that midfield. It’s unfortunate for Gift Orban, who hasn’t fully regained form after his last injury. A great list, and kudos to NFF for arranging the friendlies.”
Martins also remarked, “Very good decision to invite Fisayo Bashiru; he is a highly skilled, attacking, creative midfielder, and a goal-scoring one at that. A very good midfielder, a nice addition. The coach seems to be gearing up for AFCON; he should also look into the goalkeeping department.”
Emeka Chi added, “Since Aribo’s form dropped, Alex Iwobi has been the only creative player, and I believe the addition of Fisayo will bring more quality to the team. This is the best invitation we’ve had in a very long time.”
Dele-Bashiru is expected to join the Eagles next week, with all players scheduled to arrive in Faro, Portugal on Tuesday, October 10.
