Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) successfully rescued four individuals who were involved in a car accident that occurred at the Salau junction area of the Lekki-Ajah expressway. The accident was attributed to overspeeding on the expressway.
According to Adebayo Taofeek, the spokesperson for LASTMA, the victims, including a woman and her two children who were on their way to school, were rescued thanks to the quick intervention of LASTMA personnel and the husband of one of the victims. They were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in Lekki-Ajah for medical attention.
Following the rescue operation, the two vehicles involved in the accident, which were identified by their registration numbers as SMK297GD and LSR105HW, were handed over to the police at Ilasan Police Station along Lekki-Ajah Expressway.
Bolaji Oreagba, the General Manager of LASTMA, emphasized the importance of drivers, both private and commercial, minimizing their speed while driving on expressways. The accident serves as a reminder of the dangers of overspeeding and the need for responsible driving practices to ensure road safety.
