The acting Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, has advised newly recruited officers and men of the service not to misuse firearms and to improve their human relations. Speaking during the passing out parade for 956 general duty junior personnel at the Customs Training College in Kano State, Adeniyi emphasized the importance of professionalism in weapon handling and called for respectful and fair treatment of everyone.
He congratulated the officers and urged them to represent the service well. Adeniyi also assured Nigerians that the service would take strict action against any officer who violates citizens’ rights.
Adeniyi emphasized the need for officers to serve the nation with diligence, maintain a disciplined appearance, and uphold the highest levels of integrity at all times. He encouraged them to reflect pride in their role as customs officers and be exemplars of excellence and service in all aspects of their conduct.
The Commandant of the Customs Training College, Comptroller Rasheed Adahunse, commended the graduating junior officers for their suitability in learning and character. He noted that their skills were mastered within a short period, and the basic course commenced in March 2023.
