Joshua wants Ronaldo, Messi boxing fight

  • Post category:Sports

Anthony Joshua has expressed his desire to witness a boxing match between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, two iconic figures from the world of football. Joshua, the British-Nigerian heavyweight boxing champion, believes such a bout would be closely contested, but he favors Ronaldo as the potential winner.

During an interview on YouTube, Joshua was asked to name two non-boxers he’d like to see fight based on their personalities. He promptly suggested a bout between Ronaldo and Messi, extending their fierce football rivalry to the boxing arena. When questioned about the winner, Joshua chose Ronaldo but acknowledged the remarkable qualities of both athletes.

Joshua declined to name a non-boxer he’d like to face in a crossover fight, stating that he has no conflicts with anyone. When presented with the idea of fighting Ronaldo, Joshua responded by saying, “Nah, I respect Ronaldo.”

The conversation also touched on a hypothetical fight between footballers Romelu Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Joshua expressed his enthusiasm for such a matchup, describing it as an exciting showdown.

Joshua is scheduled to face Deontay Wilder in a highly anticipated and lucrative bout in Saudi Arabia in 2024.
